Who we are
Gaffy’s Tractor Hire is a family run business that began in 2002. The inception of Gaffy’s Tractor Hire started when my parents, Kay and Michael Gaffy decided to leave the dairy industry. We decided to purchase a new tractor and whilst writing up a contract with our local tractor dealer, my dad asked the question, “Do you have any ideas for a new business my son and I can get into?” The manager of Haeusler’s in Shepparton at that time was Neal Morie, and he first came up with the idea of Tractor Hire as a business.
Together, my parents and I ran the Tractor Hire. We started off hiring tractors ranging in horsepower of 80 hp up to 125 hp John Deers with front end loaders.
As demand grew, I took over Gaffy’s Tractor Hire from my Mum and Dad in 2010 and purchased my first set of tractors, which were New Hollands, ranging from 110 to 200 hp. I then started to branch out into machinery hire, including seeders, spreaders, multi discs, rippers, graders, slashers, mulchers, crunchers, rollers and grain handling equipment.
Since then, we have broadened our tractor horsepower range. We now boast a horsepower range of 110 up to 340 hp.
We have also tried to balance our hire business with contract mowing, windrowing, hay sales and the transport of oversized machinery.
